Sodium Hydroxide is considered a moderate hazard ingredient by the Cosmetics Database, which notes concerns regarding cancer, and moderate concerns regarding neurotoxicty, organ system toxicity and irritation. It is classified as "expected to be toxic or harmful" and one or more animal studies show brain and nervous system, metabolic, and sense organ effects at very low doses and there are warnings regarding using this ingredient around the eyes or mouth.
I really don't want this in any of the products that I use on my face or near my eyes, I don't know about you, but I think I can do without this!
Now this triple peptide firming serum isn't all natural, or organic either, so I can't say that I'll be using it long term after taking a closer look at the ingredients. I like to keep my body free of chemicals and in this case, there are simply too many in this product.
Having said that, it probably does have long term benefits for anyone looking to replace collagen levels and firm up their skin. I did take before and after pics and the results are moderate as seen here.
before
after
I still have some fine lines on my cheek area but my skin looks a little smoother. I think longer term use would produce a better result as with any serum.
